Baraza Kuu la Umoja wa Mataifa lilipiga kura 164 dhidi ya 1, huku nchi sita zikijizuia, kuhimiza nchi wanachama kupitisha mchoro wa ramani wa Equal Earth badala ya mchoro wa Mercator unaotumika sana, ulioundwa katika karne ya 16 na mchoraji ramani wa Flemish, Gerardus Mercator. Azimio lenye jina "Sahihisha Ramani" liliwasilishwa na nchi wanachama wa Umoja wa Afrika pamoja na Bahamas, likilenga kurekebisha kile wafuasi wake wanakiita upotoshaji wa karne nyingi ulioifanya Afrika ionekane ndogo kuliko ukubwa wake halisi.
