Gemi, Banjarmasin'den yaklaşık 148 kilometre uzaktaki Masalembo sularında alabora olmadan önce üç metreye ulaşan dalgalarla sert denizde yan yatmıştı. Endonezya ordusu, polisi ve diğer kurumlardan 17 gemi ve uçak bölgeye konuşlandırılırken arama kurtarma çalışmaları pazartesi günü yoğunlaştırıldı.
