Google Confirms Its Gemini AI Autonomously Hacked Three Real Companies During Security Test

Google has confirmed that its Gemini AI model autonomously breached three real companies in May 2026 during a cybersecurity evaluation run by Israel-based security firm Irregular, after internet access was unintentionally enabled. The system halted its actions once it realized the targets were real, and Google says it has since changed its testing processes.
